The Human Design Blueprint
The Human Design BodyGraph is made up of multiple layers that work together to form a detailed picture of how a person is energetically designed. Rather than offering a single trait or label, the chart reveals a multi-faceted system — each part providing essential context for the whole.
Reading a chart begins by understanding the broader mechanics, then gradually moving into finer detail. Each layer builds upon the last to offer deeper insight into a person’s energy, behaviour, decision-making, and life purpose.
Type
Type is the foundation of the chart. It describes how a person’s energy operates and interacts with the world around them. It sets the tone for their strategy in life and relationships, offering insight into their natural rhythm and role in the collective.

Profile
Profile adds a personal narrative to the chart. It reflects how someone moves through life — how they learn, grow, and relate to others. Made up of two numbers, the profile highlights core behavioural themes and reveals a person’s orientation toward experience and purpose.

Authority
Authority shows how a person is designed to make decisions. It is the internal compass that guides them toward clarity — not through logic, or mental reasoning, but through somatic awareness and energetic signals. Each authority has a unique tempo and language that supports aligned decision-making.

Centres
The nine centres represent different aspects of human experience — such as identity, communication, intuition, emotion, and pressure. Defined centres operate consistently and influence others, while open centres are more receptive and sensitive to external energy. Understanding which centres are defined, or open, reveals where a person is most stable and where they are more open to conditioning.

Gates and Channels
Gates are specific energies that sit within the centres — each one an archetype, or life theme. When two connected gates are activated, they form a channel, creating a consistent energy flow between centres. Gates and channels add specificity, describing key strengths, patterns, and areas of growth within a person’s design.

How the Chart Comes Together
Each part of the chart informs the next. Type gives us the overall operating system. Profile adds personal flavour. Authority shows how to navigate choices. Centres reveal consistency and openness. Gates and channels colour in the finer details. Together, they form a living map of potential — an energetic portrait that reflects who we are at our core and how we’re designed to thrive.
The 6 Lines And Profiles
In Human Design, your Profile reflects the unique character you're here to play in life — a blend of two archetypal roles that influence how you interact with others, move through the world, and live your purpose. Each Profile is made up of two “lines”, drawn from the six possible line archetypes found in the hexagram of the I Ching.
Rather than listing every profile combination, this section focuses on the six foundational lines. By reading about each line, you can better understand the building blocks of your own Profile—whether you’re a 1/3, 4/6, 2/4, or anything in between.
Each line reveals a distinct aspect of your personality:
- The first number in your Profile (your conscious line) reflects how you see yourself.
- The second number (your unconscious line) reflects how others perceive you and your innate growth patterns.
These six lines represent universal archetypes — from the foundational Resource to the visionary Adept. When you explore each, you’ll begin to see how they shape your learning style, relationships, purpose, and role in the collective story of humanity.
Lines 1-6
Line 1 – The Investigator (The Resource)
Line 1s are natural investigators, driven by a need to feel secure through knowledge and preparation. They build strong inner foundations by diving deeply into subjects that interest them, creating stability not only for themselves, but for others who rely on their insight.
In Quantum Human Design™, this line is known as The Resource — a wellspring of information, safety, and empowerment.
When aligned, Line 1s trust their curiosity and allow their learning process to unfold with confidence and timing. They become dependable and grounded sources of wisdom.

When out of alignment, they may fear the unknown, feel unprepared, or become trapped in constant information gathering, forgetting they already hold enough to begin.
Line 2 – The Hermit (The Responder)
Line 2s embody natural, often unconscious gifts. Known traditionally asThe Hermit, and in Quantum Human Design™ as The Responder, they need solitude to reconnect with themselves, integrate energy, and refine their innate talents. Their brilliance emerges most powerfully when they are called out — invited into spaces where their energy and insight are seen and valued.
When aligned, Line 2s honour their need for alone time, and respond with joy when the right opportunities arise. They flow with ease, offering wisdom effortlessly. When out of alignment, they may withdraw too far, or fear being seen, forgetting that their authenticity is what magnetises the right invitations.
Their strength lies in trusting the rhythm of rest and response — balancing the inner world of solitude with the outer call to contribute.
Line 3 – The Martyr (The Explorer)
Line 3s are here to discover truth through lived experience. Traditionally known as The Martyr, and in Quantum Human Design™ as The Explorer, this line learns through experimentation, trial, and error. They gain wisdom by testing what works — and what doesn’t — then share those lessons to support others.
When aligned, Line 3s are flexible, curious, and brave. They embrace life as an experiment, understanding that failure is part of the path to mastery. They thrive when they allow mistakes to become stepping stones to elegant solutions.
When out of alignment, they may judge themselves harshly, avoid risk, or fear being seen as a failure. Their gift is their ability to transform chaos into clarity and to lead others by example through authentic, hard-earned insight.
Line 4 – The Opportunist (The Stabiliser)
Line 4s are here to create change through connection. Traditionally known as The Opportunist and in Quantum Human Design™ as The Stabiliser, this line values loyalty, trust, and stability. Their influence flows through their relationships — they share ideas, opportunities, and guidance with those in their inner circle.
They build networks rooted in consistency and mutual support, often becoming a bridge between wisdom and community. When aligned, they share with warmth, reliability, and intuitive timing, helping others adapt to change with grace.
When out of alignment, they may fear loss, or instability, becoming overly cautious or resistant to new directions. Their strength lies in offering emotional safety and steady leadership — especially during uncertain times.
Line 5 – The Heretic (The Visionary Leader)
Line 5s carry a projection field — others instinctively sense their potential to lead, fix, or guide, whether invited, or not. Known traditionally as The Heretic, and in Quantum Human Design™ as The Visionary Leader, this line holds the power to influence large groups by offering practical, transformative solutions.
In alignment, Line 5s lead with wisdom, clarity, and strong boundaries. They see what’s possible and guide others toward higher potential with grounded vision. They are here to teach, uplift, and serve as mirrors of what's possible for humanity.
When out of alignment, they may feel overwhelmed by others’ expectations, or misunderstood, leading to withdrawal or self-protection. Their power lies in staying rooted in truth, discerning which roles are theirs to take on, and embodying leadership that is both impactful and authentic.
Line 6 – The Role Model (The Adept)
Line 6s are here to embody the highest potential of human maturity and consciousness. Known traditionally as The Role Model, and in Quantum Human Design™ as The Adept, this line shows us how to live with integrity, vision, and aligned purpose.
Their life unfolds in three distinct phases:
• Phase 1 (Birth to ~30): A time of fearless experimentation. Mistakes are seen as vital experiences that shape discernment.
• Phase 2 (~30 to ~50): A retreat for integration, healing, and reflection — essential for wellbeing. This phase helps cultivate emotional maturity and creative depth.
• Phase 3 (~50+): Full embodiment. The Adept returns as a visible and grounded leader, inspiring others through presence and example, not prescription.
When aligned, Line 6's trust the unfolding of life. They embody wisdom gained through lived experience and radiate calm leadership. When unaligned, they may resist rest, feel disillusioned, or push too hard to meet expectations before their time.
Their gift is to model what it means to live purposefully, patiently, and authentically —showing others what’s possible when wisdom is lived, not just learned.
The Five Quantum Types of Authority
Creative Authority (Emotional Authority)
Creative Authority is the most common inner authority, present in approximately 50% of the population. It is found in individuals with a defined Solar Plexus and is not designed for spontaneity. Instead, it is the authority of emotional clarity that unfolds over time.
Rather than making impulsive decisions, those with Creative Authority — whether they are Alchemists, Time Benders, Orchestrators, or Initiators — are designed to wait out their emotional wave. This wave brings natural highs and lows that shape how a decision is perceived. True clarity emerges only after the emotional wave has settled and a state of emotional neutrality is reached.
The key challenge for individuals with this authority is cultivating the patience to feel through their emotions and observe how their truth shifts with time. When the emotional frequency stabilises, the decision becomes clear—aligned with what genuinely resonates at the core.
Creative Authority invites you to wait, to sense, and to choose only when what you feel is emotionally consistent, grounded, and true.
Evolutionary Authority (Sacral Authority)
Evolutionary Authority is an instinctual, in-the-moment “gut” sense of what feels right and aligned. It belongs to Alchemists and Time Benders with a defined Sacral Centre and no emotional definition. This authority communicates through a powerful, bodily response — often experienced as visceral sounds, physical sensations, or energetic surges. These responses are spontaneous, clear, and highly reliable when the individual is grounded and present in their body.
For those with this authority, the sacral response is a compass that points toward what brings joy, vitality, and satisfaction. The greatest challenge for these energetic beings is learning to trust this instinctive pull — rather than overthinking it, or second-guessing their internal ‘yes’ or ‘no’.
Evolutionary Authority is the very pulse of life — a dynamic force that reveals where your life energy wants to flow. When honoured and followed, it supports not only personal alignment but the natural evolution of your path.
Actualising Authority (Splenic Authority)
Actualising Authority is rooted in the Spleen Centre and is often found in Initiators and Orchestrators. It operates through instantaneous, instinctual awareness that is deeply rooted in survival intelligence. This intuitive guidance is often subtle — like a whisper, a shiver, a moment of deep knowing that doesn’t repeat itself.
Individuals with Actualising Authority must learn to trust these momentary insights without needing logical confirmation. The wisdom of the Spleen comes in the now. When honoured, this authority helps the individual act in alignment with timing, wellness, and long-term sustainability. It supports decisions that honour integrity, preserve vitality, and respond to what is needed with elegant precision.
Orchestrated Authority (Self-Projected and Environmental Authority)
Orchestrated Authority includes both Self-Projected Authority, No Authority, and Mental-Projected (Environmental) Authority, and is most commonly found in Orchestrators and is the Authority for all Calibrators. This authority is less about internal impulses and more about external expression and environmental resonance.
Those with Self-Projected Authority gain clarity by speaking aloud, having a sounding board, often finding their truth mid-sentence. It’s not about receiving advice from others, but about hearing oneself reflected clearly. Talking through the potentials possibilities helps to bring awareness of where the energy is flowing. Those with Environmental Authority, such as Mental Projectors, access clarity through the right surroundings and the right people. Their process involves talking, sampling, reflecting, and feeling into what aligns over time.
For both, alignment is revealed when they are surrounded by resonance, clarity, and support. Orchestrated Authority teaches that our truth can emerge through the spoken word, environment, and energetic recognition.
Resource Authority (Ego Authority)
Resource Authority is connected to the Heart Centre and is found in a small number of Initiators and Orchestrators. It is about making decisions based on willpower, self-worth, and personal capacity. These individuals must feel empowered and resourced — physically, emotionally, and energetically — before committing to anything.
Because the Heart Centre governs willpower and value, Resource Authority is also about having sustainable energy and resources — or not. If you don’t have the resources, it’s a clear sign the choice is not aligned. This authority acts as a compass for integrity, showing whether a decision truly supports your capacity, values, and energetic limits.
It guides individuals to act only when their energy, desire, and inner value align. It is not about pleasing others, or pushing beyond limits, but about honouring sustainable commitment and knowing when to say 'yes' with strength and self-respect.
The Head Centre
The Head Centre sits at the top of the Human Design chart. It is a pressure centre — not a source of energy, but a place where we experience the pressure to think, to question, and to make sense of the world around us. It is here that inspiration is born — not for decision-making, but to initiate reflection, contemplation, and the pursuit of truth.
In Quantum Human Design, the Head Centre is called the Quantum Interface, a portal to divine inspiration. It’s the space where we are invited to sit with the big questions — not to resolve them, but to explore them with wonder and curiosity. It is the home of universal inquiry, spiritual awe, and sacred mystery.

The Three Gates of the Head Centre
• Gate 61 Mystery / Wonder – The pressure to understand inner, or universal truth. "Why"
• Gate 63 Doubt / Curiosity – The pressure to question and validate ideas. "Is it true?"
• Gate 64 Confusion / Divine Transference – The pressure to make sense of the past. "What does it all mean?"
View the Gate Gallery here
Defined Head Centre
If your Head Centre is defined, you experience a consistent and reliable way of processing inspiration. Your mental pressure comes from within, and you are often someone who naturally inspires others through your ideas, insights, and contemplations. You may feel a strong internal drive to understand and resolve the questions you hold.
Quantum Human Design reframes this as a gift of internal vision. When aligned, your thoughts become a catalyst for others, helping them to see more clearly. However, it's important to remember that your mind is not your authority. Let your body guide you, and use the mind as a tool — not a master.
• Strengths: Consistent inspiration, visionary thinking, stable mental processing
• Challenges: Overthinking, mental fixation, trying to force clarity
Open Head Centre
If your Head Centre is open, you are deeply sensitive to the thoughts, inspirations, and mental pressures of others. You may feel overwhelmed by questions that aren't yours, or pressured to resolve ideas just to find relief. This can lead to mental anxiety, or the false belief that you need to prove your intelligence.
In Quantum Human Design, this openness is seen as a unique form of wisdom. You are here to reflect inspiration, not hold onto it. You become a mental empath, capable of tuning into a vast range of ideas and transmitting that inspiration when grounded in your own alignment.
• Strengths: Mental flexibility, intuitive insight, access to broad perspectives
• Challenges: Mental overwhelm, distraction, difficulty discerning your own thoughts
Integration
Whether defined, or open, the Head Centre is not a decision-making authority. Its role is to spark thought, wonder, and spiritual inquiry. The pressure you feel here is not to be solved — but observed. When you release the need to have all the answers, you create space for deeper truths to emerge naturally.
Let your inspiration be something you follow with grace — not something you chase with force. The mind is a beautiful tool, but your true guidance comes from within.
The Ajna Centre
The Ajna Centre sits just below the Head in the Human Design chart. It is one of the three awareness centres and is responsible for mental processing, analysis, insight, and conceptualisation. Unlike the Head, which applies mental pressure to ask questions, the Ajna Centre tries to make sense of that pressure — organising thoughts into understanding, beliefs, and structured perspectives.
In Quantum Human Design, the Ajna is called the Divine Translator and is seen not just as a centre for mental reasoning, but as a portal for higher insight and intuitive knowing. It blends logic, memory, and symbolic awareness — allowing us to distill inspiration into meaningful frameworks.

This centre is not meant to make decisions, but to reflect on experience, refine ideas, and communicate perspective when invited.
The Six Gates of the Ajna Centre
• Gate 4 Answers / Possibility – The pressure to formulate mental answers and logical solutions
• Gate 11 Ideas / The Conceptualist – The flow of abstract ideas and inner visions
• Gate 17 Opinions / Anticipation – The ability to form logical opinions and project patterns
• Gate 24 Rationalisation / Blessings – The return of mental pressure for reflection and resolution
• Gate 43 Insight / Insight – Inner knowing and radical mental insight
• Gate 47 Realisation / Mindset – The transformation of confusion into understanding
View the Gate Gallery here
Defined Ajna Centre
If your Ajna Centre is defined, you experience a consistent and reliable way of thinking and forming opinions. Your mind processes information in a stable and structured way, often forming fixed perspectives and logical patterns. You may feel mentally confident and enjoy building systems, or offering analysis. However, it's important to remain open to new ways of thinking.
In Quantum Human Design, this is about translating inspiration into potential, by conceptualising and holding onto fixed visions. You have the ability to bring mental coherence into environments that feel uncertain. But when out of alignment, you may try to convince others of your certainty, or become rigid in your thinking.
• Strengths: Clear, logical, and reliable mental processing
• Challenges: Mental rigidity, defensiveness, or difficulty seeing alternate perspectives
Open Ajna Centre
If your Ajna Centre is open, your mental processing is variable and adaptive. You have the ability to see many perspectives and entertain a wide range of thoughts and possibilities. This makes you mentally flexible and capable of great insight — but also susceptible to mental pressure, insecurity, or the need to be 'certain' in order to feel safe.
Quantum Human Design reframes this as Mental Flexibility; the ability to see all potentials and possibilities.
You are here to reflect thought, not fixate on it. When you trust your inner knowing and don't try to force mental certainty, your mind becomes a clear mirror — able to hold expansive insight and offer clarity in the right timing.
• Strengths: Openness to new ideas, flexible and intuitive thinking
• Challenges: Feeling pressure to be mentally certain, difficulty trusting your insight
Integration
The Ajna Centre is not a decision-making authority. Its purpose is to translate inspiration into understanding, to form insights, and to offer mental clarity — not to lead. Whether defined or open, the Ajna teaches us that wisdom doesn’t come from holding onto thoughts — it comes from letting them move through with trust and discernment.
Let your mind serve your awareness, not dominate your path. When the Ajna is in balance, it becomes a sacred space of reflection, revelation, and graceful intelligence.
The Throat Centre
The Throat Centre is the hub of communication and manifestation in Human Design. It is where energy is expressed into form — through speech, action, and creative output. It is the most visibly active centre in the chart and is directly connected to the way we interact with the world around us. In essence, it transforms energy from other centres into words and deeds.
In Quantum Human Design, the Throat Centre is called the Activation Centre and is seen as the portal of Manifestation. It is the space where we translate inspiration, thought, emotion, and life force into expression. This centre is not just about talking — it’s about timing, clarity, and aligned action. What we speak, we shape.

The Eleven Gates of the Throat Centre
• Gate 8 Contribution / Fulfilment – Contribution through authentic self-expression
• Gate 12 Caution / The Channel – Emotional expression and caution in communication
• Gate 16 Skills / Zest – Skilful expression of enthusiasm, repetition and mastery
• Gate 20 The Now / Patience – When speaking in the now, right words emerge naturally with presence
• Gate 23 Assimilation / Transmission – Assimilation of insight into simple, powerful speech
• Gate 31 Democracy / The Leader – Leadership through the voice of the collective
• Gate 33 Privacy / Retelling – Storytelling, reflection, and the voice of retreat
• Gate 35 Change / Experience – The voice of experience and emotional progress
• Gate 45 The King or Queen / Distribution – The voice of material leadership and distribution
• Gate 56 The Storyteller / Expansion – Stimulation and storytelling for meaning-making
• Gate 62 Details / Preparation – Logical articulation of details and facts
Defined Throat Centre
If your Throat Centre is defined, you have a consistent and reliable way of expressing yourself. Your voice carries presence, and people often look to you for articulation, leadership, or creative output. You may feel a strong urge to speak or act, especially when energy from connected centres fuels your expression. However, your challenge is to wait for the right timing and to speak from alignment rather than compulsion.
In Quantum Human Design, this is called Activation and brings the ability to use language in empowering ways to initiate — your voice has power, and when grounded in clarity, it can move mountains. But if used out of sync with your authority, it can lead to miscommunication, or resistance from others.
• Strengths: Powerful voice, consistent expression, natural influence
• Challenges: Speaking without invitation, dominating conversations, impatience in timing
Open Throat Centre
If your Throat Centre is open, your voice and expression are highly influenced by your environment. You may speak in many voices, reflecting the people and energies around you. You may also feel pressure to speak, or perform in order to be noticed, or heard, especially in group settings.
In Quantum Human Design, this is considered Amplified Expression — you are here to be a fluid communicator, capable of channeling messages, tones, and insight based on who you are with. When you trust your timing and speak only when invited, your voice becomes a sacred instrument.
• Strengths: Versatile, adaptive, intuitive communicator
• Challenges: Speaking to get attention, inconsistent voice, feeling invisible, or unheard
Integration
The Throat Centre is a place of manifestation — not just through speech, but through all forms of creative output. Whether defined, or open, the key is learning to honour your unique voice and to trust the timing of your expression. Manifestation happens not just through saying — but through aligning your voice with your truth.
Let your voice be a reflection of your authenticity. Speak when invited, act when aligned, and know that what you express has the power to shape reality.
The G Centre
The G Centre, also known as the Identity Centre, is the magnetic core of the Human Design chart. It governs love, direction, and the sense of self. Located in the centre of the BodyGraph, this centre answers questions like: Who am I? Where am I going? What is my purpose? It is a deeply spiritual and personal energy that influences everything from relationships to life path.
In Quantum Human Design, the G Centre is called the Calibration Centre and is seen as the Heart of the Self. It is the place where your identity aligns with your higher purpose and your capacity to give and receive love. This centre holds the frequency of your soul’s direction. When aligned, it provides a steady compass that draws life toward you through resonance and authenticity.

The Eight Gates of the G Centre
• Gate 1 Self-Expression / Purpose – A deep inner drive to express the self in original and inspiring ways
• Gate 2 Keeper of the Keys / Allowing – Inner direction that embodies the receptive force of life’s unfolding
• Gate 7 The Role of the Self in Interaction / Collaboration – Leadership rooted in alignment and vision
• Gate 10 Love of Self / Self-Love – Love of the self and behaviour aligned with authentic identity
• Gate 13 The Listener / Narrative – Listening and holding the stories of others
• Gate 15 Extremes / Compassion – Love of humanity, rhythm, diversity, and acceptance
• Gate 25 Love of Spirit / Spirit – Universal love, spiritual innocence and the purity of spirit
• Gate 46 Love of the Body / Embodiment – Love of the body and being in the right place
Defined G Centre
If your G Centre is defined, you have a consistent sense of self, direction, and love. You tend to know who you are, and that sense of identity remains stable over time. Others may find your presence grounding and may look to you for clarity, or guidance. Your relationships and sense of purpose are often rooted in your strong internal compass.
In Quantum Human Design, this is referred to as Consistent Self — your energy draws people and opportunities to you based on your steady frequency of authenticity. It’s important to trust your direction and to allow your sense of self to lead the way, even when others may not understand it.
• Strengths: Consistent identity, clear direction, authentic presence
• Challenges: Difficulty adapting to change, resistance to new identities, or roles
Open G Centre
If your G Centre is open, you experience identity in a fluid, adaptive way. You may feel different depending on who you are with, or where you are. Rather than having one fixed sense of self, you sample and reflect different identities and directions. This can be a source of incredible wisdom, creativity, and compassion — when embraced.
In Quantum Human Design, this is the gift of understanding the story of humanity — experiencing a wide variety of personal narratives. In this way you are evolving - you are not here to be one thing forever, but to explore the many facets of self and love. When you trust your environment and let life flow through you, you become a mirror for others and a guide for healing.
• Strengths: Flexible identity, deep empathy, environmental sensitivity
• Challenges: Feeling lost, seeking direction externally, people-pleasing
Integration
The G Centre teaches us about love, purpose, and identity. Whether defined, or open, it holds the key to how we navigate life from the heart. When aligned, it acts like a magnet — drawing in people, places, and opportunities that resonate with our true path. It doesn’t need to be figured out. It needs to be trusted.
Let your identity be an unfolding journey. You are not here to find your direction — you are here to embody it.
The Will Centre
The Will Centre, also known as the Heart, or Ego Centre, governs themes of willpower, self-worth, value, and material resources. It is a motor centre — meaning it generates energy — and is unique in that its energy is not designed for constant output. This centre operates in bursts, asking us to use our will in alignment with our values, not as a constant grind.
In Quantum Human Design, the Will Centre is called the Resource Centre. It represents our ability to commit, to uphold promises, and to live in integrity with our personal truth. When this centre is aligned, we know our worth and take empowered action from a place of self-honouring.

The Four Gates of the Will Centre
• Gate 21 The Treasurer / Self-Regulation – Managing resources and directing action with clarity
• Gate 26 The Trickster / Integrity – The ability to communicate with impact and the art of persuasion
• Gate 40 Loneliness / Restoration – Balanced giving; knowing when to contribute and when to withdraw
• Gate 51 Shock / Initiation – The energy of spiritual initiation through disruption and bold, catalytic experiences
Defined Will Centre
If your Will Centre is defined, you have access to willpower energy in a consistent way — though it comes in bursts. You may feel driven to prove yourself, achieve goals, and manage commitments with integrity. Others may experience your energy as strong-willed, capable, and self-assured.
In Quantum Human Design, this is the energy of Value and Commitment. You are here to create knowing your own value, follow through on what matters most and to honour your energetic limits. However, the challenge lies in not overcommitting, or trying to prove your worth by doing too much.
• Strengths: Commitment, follow-through, integrity, ability to lead or negotiate
• Challenges: Overworking, proving, burnout, difficulty resting
Open Will Centre
If your Will Centre is open, you do not have consistent access to willpower. You may feel pressure to prove yourself, to push past your limits, or to commit to things in order to feel worthy. This can lead to over-promising, under-delivering, or feeling inadequate.
In Quantum Human Design, this openness is a gift of Worth Without Proving - I am enough! You are here to understand that your value is inherent — not something you earn through effort. When aligned, you become a powerful teacher of self-worth, integrity, and aligned commitment.
• Strengths: Deep understanding of value, non-attached to ego validation, wise about promises
• Challenges: People-pleasing, overcommitting, worthiness issues, burnout
Integration
The Will Centre teaches us to honour our value — not through constant effort, but through alignment. Whether defined or open, the lesson of this centre is to trust your worth, respect your energy, and make promises that reflect your truth.
You are worthy — not because of what you do, but because of who you are. Let your willpower serve your purpose, not your need to prove.
The Emotional Solar Plexus
The Solar Plexus Centre is the centre of emotional awareness in Human Design. It is both an awareness centre and a powerful motor, governing emotional waves, sensitivity, empathy, creativity, intimacy, and connection. Unlike the spleen, which knows in the now, emotional clarity in the Solar Plexus comes over time.
In Quantum Human Design, the Solar Plexus is called the Creative - a Centre for Emotional Intelligence. It teaches us that clarity is born through emotional process, not immediate reaction. This centre is about learning how to hold emotion as a source of wisdom, inspiration, and connection — not something to suppress, or avoid.

The Seven Gates of the Solar Plexus Centre
• Gate 6 Friction / Impact – Managing intimacy, emotional boundaries and conflict resolution
• Gate 22 Openness / Surrender – Emotional grace and openness; heart-centred expression
• Gate 30 Desire / Passion – Desire and the pressure for emotional experience
• Gate 36 Crisis / Exploration – The emotional intensity of new beginnings and uncharted experiences
• Gate 37 Friendship / Peace – Emotional connection, bonding, and mutual agreements in relationships
• Gate 49 Principles / The Catalyst – Emotional revolution and the courage to stand for what truly matters
• Gate 55 Spirit / Faith – Faith in abundance and the potential for emotional freedom and spiritual awakening
Defined Solar Plexus Centre
If your Solar Plexus Centre is defined, you experience a consistent emotional wave. Your feelings rise and fall over time, and you are not meant to make decisions in the moment. Emotional authority teaches patience — you are designed to wait for clarity to emerge. This emotional depth can be a profound source of empathy and connection when honoured and expressed authentically.
In Quantum Human Design, this is the path of Emotional Mastery. You are learning to embrace your feelings as sacred information, guidance from the body and not something to fix, or rush.
• Strengths: Emotional depth, empathy, authenticity, powerful creativity
• Challenges: Moodiness, impulsive decisions, pressure to avoid or control emotion
Open Solar Plexus Centre
If your Solar Plexus Centre is open, you are emotionally sensitive to others and may amplify emotional energy around you. This can make you highly empathic, but also vulnerable to emotional overwhelm, avoidance, or people-pleasing.
In Quantum Human Design, this is known as Emotional Clarity Through Detachment. You are here to understand emotion, identifying and holding your own emotional frequency, regardless of what others may be feeling around you. With awareness, you become a compassionate observer, able to reflect emotional wisdom without becoming engulfed.
• Strengths: Emotional empathy, awareness of others’ emotional truth, wise emotional timing
• Challenges: Avoiding emotional confrontation, internalising others’ feelings, difficulty knowing what’s truly yours
Integration
The Solar Plexus is a centre of transformation. Whether defined or open, its wisdom comes through learning how to navigate emotional energy — not from controlling it, but from allowing it to teach you. Emotional truth does not arrive instantly; it unfolds in waves. You don’t need to rush clarity. You need to trust the wave. In doing so, you learn to live and love with emotional integrity.
The Sacral Centre
The Sacral Centre is the powerhouse of life force energy in the Human Design chart. It is a motor centre responsible for sustaining work, reproduction, vitality, and creativity. Unique to Generators and Manifesting Generators, this centre defines their type and is the source of their consistent, renewable energy when they engage in aligned and satisfying work.
Called the Evolution Centre in Quantum Human Design, the Sacral Centre is seen as the place of Response and Vitality. It operates not from the mind, but from the body — specifically through gut-level signals like yes/no sounds, sensations, or physical pull. It’s not designed to initiate — it’s designed to respond to life with truth and vitality.

The Nine Gates of the Sacral Centre
• Gate 3 – The Ordering / Innovation – The energy of new beginnings that emerge from chaos and disorder
• Gate 5 Patterns / Consistency – Rhythm and alignment with life cycles through ritual, routine, and repetition
• Gate 9 Focus / Convergence – Focus and the ability to concentrate energy on intricate details
• Gate 14 Possession in Great Measure / Creation – The energy for sustainable work and abundance
• Gate 27 Responsibility / Accountability – Nourishment and the instinct to care for others wellbeing
• Gate 29 Perseverance / Devotion – The resilient energy of perseverance and the commitment to follow through
• Gate 34 Power / Power – Raw power for self-empowerment and independence
• Gate 42 Finishing Things / Conclusion – The energy to complete cycles and expand through experience
• Gate 59 Sexuality / Sustainability – Intimacy, bonding, and sustainable connection
Defined Sacral Centre
If your Sacral Centre is defined, you have consistent access to life force energy — especially when doing work that lights you up. You are designed to respond, not initiate. When you respond to what truly resonates, your energy becomes magnetic and self-renewing. However, when you say yes to things that don’t align, your energy depletes and you may feel frustration, or burnout.
In Quantum Human Design, this is known as the Evolution Centre. You are here to respond with action that is guided from the body through visceral yes/no signals. Your sacral response is your truth — it bypasses logic and speaks directly from your life force. When aligned, you are able to respond to the needs of others and support the evolution of your community.
• Strengths: Sustainable energy, vitality, magnetic response, creativity through satisfaction
• Challenges: Overcommitting, working without joy, saying yes from the mind instead of the body
Open Sacral Centre
If your Sacral Centre is open, you do not have consistent access to life force energy. You may feel pressure to keep up with others, or try to force productivity, leading to exhaustion, or resentment. You may amplify the sacral energy of others and push beyond your natural limits.
In Quantum Human Design, this is seen as Wisdom of the Work Cycle. You are not here to generate energy — you are here to observe what true, satisfying energy looks like. Your role is to honour rest, work selectively, and help guide and direct others; helping them realign with what’s truly vital.
• Strengths: Deep wisdom about energy, ability to guide others out of burnout, clarity about true satisfaction
• Challenges: Burnout, overwork, difficulty saying no, loss of inner signal
Integration
The Sacral Centre is not a thinking energy — it’s a feeling one. It speaks through gut responses, body sounds, and energy pulses. Whether defined or open, the Sacral teaches us to listen to the body, follow what lights us up, and honour our energetic truth. When we trust that life will meet us when we respond authentically, we reconnect to joy, vitality, and flow. You don’t have to figure it out. You just have to feel it. Let your energy respond — and let satisfaction lead the way.
The Root Centre
The Root Centre is a pressure and motor centre in the Human Design chart. It provides the adrenal energy that fuels movement, evolution, and survival. It creates a constant pressure to act, grow, and respond to life’s demands. This pressure can feel like urgency — but when understood and aligned, it becomes a catalyst for steady, grounded action.
In Quantum Human Design, the Root Centre is known as the Divine Timing Centre. It propels us forward through alignment, also teaching us to cultivate stillness, resilience, and right timing. It's not just about doing more — it’s about responding to pressure with grace and alignment.

The Nine Gates of the Root Centre
• Gate 19 Wanting / Attunement – Sensitivity to the needs of others and emotional attunement
• Gate 38 The Fighter / The Visionary – The inner strength and the drive to stand for what truly matters
• Gate 39 Provocation / Recalibration – Emotional provocation of spirit and testing of boundaries
• Gate 41 Fantasy / Imagination – The initiation of experience and emotional fantasy
• Gate 52 Stillness / Perspective – Focused stillness; the inner quiet that brings clarity and perspective
• Gate 53 Starting Things / Starting – The start of new cycles, new beginnings and transformation
• Gate 54 Drive / Divine Inspiration – Drive for ambition and material/spiritual ascension
• Gate 58 Joy of Life / Joy – Joyful vitality that fuels growth and refinement; correction and improvement
• Gate 60 Acceptance / Conservation – The energy of transformation through accepting limitation
Defined Root Centre
If your Root Centre is defined, you have a consistent relationship to pressure and stress. You’re likely to feel a constant drive to take action, respond to life’s challenges, and pursue progress. This can be highly motivating, but also overwhelming if not balanced with rest and self-awareness.
In Quantum Human Design, this is described as Divine Timing. You’re here to channel the pulse of divine timing into productive flow — but only when your actions are aligned; not from pressure or panic, but from presence.
• Strengths: Reliable motivation, inner drive, capacity for resilience and endurance
• Challenges: Chronic business, restlessness, pressure to prove, or achieve
Open Root Centre
If your Root Centre is open, you are highly sensitive to external pressure. You may feel rushed, or stressed by the expectations and urgency of others. This can lead to burnout, people-pleasing, or trying to relieve pressure by taking premature, or misaligned action.
In Quantum Human Design, this may be experienced as amplified pulses of divine timing; as energy boosts for aligned action. You’re here to learn that not all pressure needs a response, and that both alignment and inner stillness is a source of great clarity and power.
• Strengths: Sensitivity to pressure, awareness of urgency, potential to teach grounded response
• Challenges: Stress amplification, rushing decisions, difficulty being still
Integration
The Root Centre is a powerful driver — but not every impulse is meant to be acted upon. Whether defined or open, your relationship to pressure shapes your pace, your priorities, and your sense of peace. When you pause, breathe, and listen to your inner guidance, you learn to harness this energy for growth without being ruled by urgency.
Let pressure be a prompt — not a command. Your evolution doesn’t require speed — it requires alignment.
The Spleen Centre
The Spleen Centre is one of the three awareness centres in Human Design and is associated with instinct, intuition, immune health, and survival. It holds our body’s intelligence for moment-to-moment well-being and safety, alerting us to what supports life and what does not. It is a centre rooted in the now — communicating through quiet awareness and intuitive hits.
In Quantum Human Design, the Spleen Centre is the Centre for Self Actualisation. It represents the body's deep intelligence, constantly scanning the environment for alignment, truth, and safety. It is the source of spontaneous knowing — not through logic, or emotion, but through subtle perception. When we trust its voice, we access clarity and grace in the present moment.

The Seven Gates of the Spleen Centre
• Gate 18 Correction / Realignment – The drive to improve, realign, and correct what is no longer serving
• Gate 28 Struggle / Adventure-Challenge – The struggle for purpose through challenge and tenacity
• Gate 32 Continuity / Endurance – Instinct for what will succeed or endure
• Gate 44 Alertness / Truth – Awareness of patterns from the past and recognition
• Gate 48 Depth / Wisdom – Deep intuitive knowing, depth and the well of intuitive wisdom
• Gate 50 Values / Nurturing – Responsibility and stability through shared values and principled care and nurturing
• Gate 57 Intuition / Instinct – The most acute intuitive awareness, intuition and clear inner knowing
Defined Spleen Centre
If your Spleen Centre is defined, you have consistent access to instinct and intuitive awareness. You may often know what is safe, or correct in the moment, without being able to explain why. This gives you a strong sense of what supports well-being, but it also means you may not always recognise fear when it’s no longer relevant.
In Quantum Human Design, this is known as Self Actualisation. You are designed to trust your first impression, having an instinctual awareness relating to decision making especially related to timing, survival, avoiding pain and increasing sustainability and value.
• Strengths: Instinctive decision-making, steady immune intelligence, grounded presence
• Challenges: Resistance to change, subtle fears, clinging to what feels familiar
Open Spleen Centre
If your Spleen Centre is open, your intuition is not fixed — it is adaptive and environmental. You may feel others’ fears as your own, or struggle with letting go of things that once felt safe. Your body wisdom is variable, making it essential to ground yourself and clear out energy regularly.
In Quantum Human Design, this is seen as Intuitive Empathy; you are aware of other people’s awareness. You are here to become wise about health, well-being, and safety — not through certainty, but through sensitivity and lived experience.
• Strengths: Deeply intuitive in the presence of others, sensitive to what’s safe, or aligned
• Challenges: Holding onto outdated fears, absorbing fear from others, difficulty trusting instinct
Integration
The Spleen speaks quietly and only once — it lives in the now and does not repeat itself. Whether defined or open, the key to working with the Spleen is to learn to listen deeply, to trust your body’s subtle messages, and to release fear when it no longer serves. It is a centre of instinct, healing, and natural presence.
Let intuition be your compass. Your body knows what the mind cannot always explain.
