Counselling Approaches
I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to support the unique needs of each client. While our work is grounded in talk therapy, I also incorporate body-based, relational and symbolic approaches that support deeper healing, self-awareness and personal growth.
Rather than following a rigid model, I tailor our work to your individual needs and circumstances. Some people benefit from practical strategies and emotional support, while others are seeking a deeper understanding of long-standing patterns, relationships and life experiences.
The approaches below are not separate therapies that are applied in isolation, but complementary ways of understanding ourselves and supporting meaningful change.
Person-Centred Counselling
At the heart of my practice is Person-Centred Therapy, developed by Carl Rogers. This compassionate, client-led approach creates a safe and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences freely.
With empathy, authenticity and unconditional positive regard, I offer a therapeutic relationship that honours your inner wisdom and capacity for growth. Healing often begins when we feel genuinely seen, heard and accepted.
Nervous System & Somatic Approaches
Our experiences are not only held in the mind, but also within the body and nervous system. Drawing from Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), Somatic Practices, Mindfulness, Meditation and IFS-informed approaches, we work gently to develop greater awareness, regulation and resilience.
Together we may explore emotional patterns, attachment dynamics, protective parts of the personality, bodily sensations and nervous system responses that influence how you experience yourself and the world around you.
This work can help cultivate a greater sense of calm, safety, self-compassion and connection, supporting healing at a pace that feels manageable and respectful.
Narrative & Archetypal Approaches
Human beings naturally make sense of life through stories. Narrative and Archetypal approaches explore the beliefs, identities and symbolic patterns that shape how we see ourselves and our place in the world.
Together we may examine the stories you have inherited, the roles you have learned to play, and the deeper themes that continue to emerge throughout your life. Through reflection, guided imagery, symbolic exploration and creative processes, we can uncover new perspectives, reconnect with personal strengths and develop a richer understanding of who you are.
This work is particularly valuable for those seeking greater self-awareness, meaning, purpose and personal growth.
"Everything changes once we identify with being the witness to the story, instead of
the actor in it."
